Fiano - 2016 McLaren Vale SA
Fiano is considered a "classical vine" of Southern Italy, believed to have been cultivated by the Romans and possibly the Greeks before them. It is low yielding, and because of this fell out of favour for many years, with producers preferring more prolific varieties. Conservation efforts and improved viticultural techniques have lead to a resurgence in the grape's popularity.
Try this and you'll wonder how Fiano ever went out of fashion! The upfront fruit is rich and expressive, and is supported by a delicious bright acid backbone creating an opulent wine with great freshness and elegance.
Made in McLaren Vale, we're very lucky to have access to some of this wine. Perfect with oysters and seafood, this'll stand up to all but the richest white meat dishes too.
